ECDIS Type Specific Training TRANSAS NAVI-SAILOR 4000

Scope

This type specific ECDIS training will be using the latest TRANSAS NAVI-SAILOR 4000 ECDIS.  Practical exercises are developed in this course for hands-on demonstration for Officers and Masters in preparation for using TRANSAS ECDIS.

  3. Setting Safety Parameters
  4. Route Planning
  5. Route Monitoring
  6. Chart Management

Objectives

The main goal of this 2-day (16hours) ECDIS type specific course is to provide the vessel crew with knowledge, understanding and proficiency in the use of Navi-Sailor 4000 ECDIS.

Those successfully completing this ECDIS specific training, the participants shall be able to have necessary confidence in operating Navi-Sailor 4000 ECDIS for planning, conducting and monitoring safe navigation using electronic charts.

Entry Standards

The course is designated for nautical officers and other persons with responsible duties in navigation work.

Those wishing to enter this course should have experience in performing chart and radar work and should be able to practice all usual tasks concerning standard navigational procedures and equipment. They should be familiar with standard computer, including elements such as windows, trackballs, etc.

Staff Requirements

The qualifications of the instructor are in accordance with the requirements laid down in Section A-I/6 of the STCW Code as amended.  The instructors are thoroughly familiar with the operation of the entire equipment to be used in this course.

Every instructor needs to have a valid “Transas Navi-Sailor 4000 Instructor Cetificate”, issued by TRANSAS or should be employed by Transas Marine with ECDIS related responsibilities.
